A group of dedicated fundraisers have walked, run and cycled an incredible 2,000 miles in just two weeks to raise awareness for mental health and vital funds for Lancashire Mind.

Last month, Lancashire Mind appealed for supporters to join us on our biggest fundraising challenge journey. With an original target to complete the palatine boundary of Lancashire, which is 417 miles, the team of fundraisers completed this distance in just five days and continued to complete a second, third and forth lap of the boundary before the end of the challenge.

The fundraisers have also raised an amazing £4,697 for Lancashire Mind (at time of publish). Every penny of the money raised through the challenge will be spent in Lancashire supporting Lancashire Mind's vision of mental wellbeing for all across the county.

As of 16th June at 17:00 the fundraiser has gone on to raise £4,697.

''These funds are going to be vital in this current climate as our overall donations decrease but the demand on Lancashire Mind's support services increases even further.''

Fundraisers that Dreams are Made Of

A  number of Lancashire Mind staff took part in the fundraiser and were joined by members of the public who wanted to show their commitment to the mental health of everyone living in Lancashire. In total over 35 people took the challenge on and completed their miles in locations all over the county whilst sharing updates with each other and supporting other members  through a dedicated Facebook group.                                             Fundraisers from all over the country joined for a virtual finish line

Lancashire Mind CEO Tommy Mcllravey said: "Lancashire Mind have seen a loss of income through fundraising due to COVID-19 but our services are still very much in demand. We can't thank those who have taken part in the Breaking Boundaries 2020 challenge enough. They have raised much needed funds for Lancashire Mind in a challenging climate. Not only this, but they have also stood up for all those living with mental health conditions across Lancashire and helped to raise awareness, start conversations and show people they are not alone."

Alice and Katherine dedicate their miles to 'understanding' as they walk and roll their way through the challenge

"It was really important that we created a challenge that promoted wellbeing and a sense of unity for all those taking part whilst also celebrating the county we work in. We didn't know what to expect when we launched Breaking Boundaries 2020. It is so different to anything we have done before but we have been overwhelmed by the support of all those who took part and the many people who have donated to the challenge and kept the boundary breakers going. The miles completed and the total raised is beyond anything we could have expected and we are so grateful to everyone involved."
