We are happy to announce that we have partnered with Blackburn with Darwen Wellbeing Service, One Voice Blackburn and Age UK Blackburn with Darwen to provide a range of wellbeing and mental health support for residents across the borough.

With more people than ever facing mental health and wellbeing issues, some as a result of the current coronavirus pandemic, support and services like this are becoming increasingly important.

The support provided aims to help people better self-manage their wellbeing and to improve their quality of life.

Bryony Littler, our Wellbeing Coach Lead, said:

“People usually feel quite comfortable seeking help and advice about their physical health but when it comes to their mental health, they’re often unsure where to turn or how to help themselves.

“The range of support we’re offering as part of this service will help people to better manage their own mental health and wellbeing and they can register themselves without having to be referred by a GP.”

There are a variety of programmes on offer from peer support, community groups, coaching groups on anxiety, depression, stress and sleep and 1-2-1 coaching.

Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, all the support is being delivered virtually, either online or over the telephone.

Zaffer Khan CEO of One Voice Blackburn said:

“We are thrilled that we’ve been able to partner up with such dedicated and well-respected organisations like Lancashire Mind and Age UK Blackburn with Darwen. We want to be able to offer all the residents of Blackburn with Darwen the best access to support.

“Public Health, Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council have provided funding for this support and we want to make sure it benefits as many people as possible. One Voice Blackburn has a proud reputation of reaching some of the most socially isolated communities in the Borough.”

Bryony added:

“Lancashire Mind has seen an increase in demand for our services during the pandemic and all the support available will help people to navigate the new normal and provide more flexible services for those who need it.

“We want people to know that if you’re having trouble sleeping, or you’re feeling anxious or have very low moods and little motivation, then you don’t have to put up with it. We can help you. Register for some support and learn how”
