This year Lancashire Mind’s flagship fundraising event is taking supporters

on a virtual journey all the way to Lapland!

Everyone at Lancashire Mind is delighted to announce that whilst we have made some changes this year, Mental Elf 2020 is set to go ahead with an exciting, new virtual twist. We know how much our supporters enjoy Mental Elf so we have been working hard to create a challenging fundraising event that the whole family can safely enjoy!

We need as many participants as possible to join us on a 3226km virtual fundraising team journey from the south of Lancashire all the way to Father Christmas' home town!

Between Tuesday 1st and Saturday 12th December, our participants can choose to run or walk the usual distance of 5km or further in one day or over the course of the challenge's twelve days- it's completely up to you!

Lancashire Mind has lost and continues to lose significant income through cancelled fundraising events and challenges due to COVID-19. Despite this we have seen the rise in demand for mental health services and have chosen to continue with the event to raise the vital funds we need, champion the importance of being active for better mental wellbeing and bringing the community together to create the Christmas we all deserve.

Fundraising Lead Emma Bateson said:

“Mental Elf is our flagship fundraising event and we hope that despite the changes we have made this year our loyal supporters will be keen to get involved with the exciting new challenge. We also hope to attract new supporters who may have enjoyed taking part in virtual challenges over the last few months.

“Despite having some fantastic supporters the cancellation of fundraising events and challenges does mean that we have lost substantial income since April 2020 and we have been working hard as a charity to ensure that we can offer people fun and safe ways to support Lancashire Mind. We are really excited about the changes we have made to this year’s Mental Elf and can’t wait to join our participants in this challenge.”
