An opportunity to experience the beautiful Morecambe Bay Sands through a guided walk provided by The Guide over Sands Trust. The Trust is a charity which provides two guides, to offer safe passage across both Kent and Leven Estuaries.

The walk will take place on Saturday 23rd July with limited spaces available to walk for Lancashire Mind.

The walk is held in memory of Sian Waterhouse  raising funds for Lancashire Mind. 16 year old Sian died by suicide in February 2018. She suffered with depression and anxiety. Sian's family and friends have organised numerous fundraising events and taken part in numerous fundraising activities over the last few years raising an incredible amount for Lancashire Mind and enabling the charity to expand it's services particularly in North Lancashire where Sian grew up.

There are two ticket options:

Ticket Only-£15 per person. £10 will be donated to Lancashire Mind and £5 will be received by the The Guide over Sands Trust.

Sponsored Place-Free. Lancashire Mind will cover the cost of your ticket but we require you to raise a minimum of £30 in sponsorship for the event. £25 will be donated to Lancashire Mind, or more if you raise above £30, and £5 will be received by The Guide over Sands Trust.

Please read the Walk Information and Agreement before purchasing tickets as you will be asked to confirm you have read and agree to the document when purchasing a ticket/tickets. This can be found at the end of this page.

Every year there is a chance walks will need to be re-arranged if the event can not safely go ahead. Should the event need to be cancelled for any other reason including, but not limited to, poor weather or a health outbreak, every effort will be made to provide a new date and refunds will be given where possible should people be unable to attend. Please note The Guides check the route is safe the day before so this does mean the walk can be cancelled at short notice.

Please ensure you give both a contact number and email address upon booking, and regularly check for communications, so we can reach you at the earliest possible time to inform you of any changes.

Further Walk Details:

The walk will take 3-4 hours covering a distance of 6-9 miles from Arnside to Grange. Parts of the walk may be challenging. Please ensure that all those under 18 taking part in the walk after supervised by an adult at all times.

The walk start time is 1.45pm but you will need to arrive in Arnside one hour before the event to allow time to check in, make your way to the start line and attend the safety briefing. The Guides will begin the walk at 1.45pm.
