Robin came to coaching sessions because she had experienced a loss in her life and felt low about this and her life in general.

"I feel down a lot and I don't want to be here anymore".

Robin told her Wellbeing Coach that she lacked confidence and struggled with her self-esteem and this was affecting her ability to cope. She wanted to feel more positive about her life, like she used to feel.

Robin was experiencing critical, worrying thoughts and felt this was one of the reasons she was distancing herself from other people, people she cared about. She didn't want to this anymore. She wanted to involve herself in activities and enjoy them.

Robin explained to the Wellbeing Coach that whilst she wasn't considering taking her own life, she felt she no longer wanted to be here. She felt insecure about her relationship with her boyfriend and believed that her manager was unhappy with her work.

Over the course of four sessions, Robin and her Coach explored thoughts, feelings and behaviours. The Coach supported Robin to challenge her assumptions, worries and critical thoughts. They used a strengths questionnaire to identify Robin's skills and capabilities, which helped her to see the positivie contribution she was making in her work and relationships.

Robin started to feel that she could be more assertive and wanted to look at options for new activities. She made an effort to do different things. By the end of her time with the Coach, Robin felt completely different and now had strategies that she could use to manage her worrying, critical thoughts.

"I feel a lot better, like my old self, and I feel close to people again."
