Blue Cat Glass
All of the glass in Christine's work is cut by hand, carefully arranged and fused in her kiln, often two or three times, before it is finished.
This means that one piece can take several days to complete with each piece being truly unique...
How to Visit my Shop
I began working with glass at evening classes about 20 years ago as a way to relax at something that was very different from my work as a busy mental health nurse. Initially I learned how to work with stained glass, but when those courses ended I tried fusing and was instantly hooked! Now I have my own kiln and a shed in the garden where I have more space which means I can have several projects on the go and make much more mess! Having my garden workshop has been amazing this year as I’m able to shut myself away with my glass and forget for a while all that’s going on.
Most of my designs are one offs and quite random depending on colours or textures and ideas often tend to
come from the glass itself.
I love learning new techniques and there is always something to experiment with and although the kiln fairies are not always totally kind, even mistakes can sometimes turn into pleasant surprises.
Happy Browsing and Merry Christmas!
