Time to Change was a national campaign but now is being funded to continue locally by Blackburn with Darwen borough council. The campaign works to end mental health stigma and discrimination. It is a growing movement of people changing how we all think and act about mental health conditions.

Talking about mental health is vital in breaking down stigma. Despite the progress made we know that many people still don’t consider mental health relevant to them. That’s why we’re focusing our efforts on reaching these audiences.

There is a network of Time to Change Hubs across the country. Time to Change Hubs are local partnerships which demonstrate their commitment to:

  • Putting people with personal experience of a mental health condition (Champions) at the heart of their work
  • Embedding anti-stigma and discrimination work locally, whether that be local schools, workplaces or other community settings
  • Proactively campaigning to improve people’s attitudes and behaviours towards mental health.

Lancashire Mind coordinate the Blackburn with Darwen Time to Change Hub, which is led by Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council.

The Blackburn with Darwen Hub is currently recruiting campaigners. Campaigners use their lived experience to break down the negative barriers that exist around those of us with mental health conditions.
