Jane was introduced to Lancashire Mind’s tenancy service after her last tenancy failed due to a sudden decline in her mental health which had led to a stay in hospital.  Jane had lost everything and was starting her life over again.

Initially, Jane was placed into a shared house and intensive tenancy support was put in place assisting Jane to maximise her income by looking into what benefits she was entitled to making relevant applications.

Whilst living in the shared house Jane took steps to recovery and often proved to be a great support for other residents.  She empowered others and herself and this in turn built Jane’s confidence and it wasn’t long before she was able to move into her first supported living flat with Lancashire Mind.

Jane’s journey continued with the tenancy service and has gone from strength to strength.  With continued support from her tenancy worker and her own determination to improve her life skills and mental health, Jane as settled into a new area, made new friends and even completed a course in IT and is now competent in using technology.   Jane reaches out to her local community by attending meetings in the local library and often encourages others who may be facing poor mental health.

Lancashire Mind are extremely proud of Jane, these are only a few of her achievements during her two years in our service.  Testament to the fact that with continued support and a determined outlook it is possible to make positive changes and achieve your goals whilst living with a mental health condition.
