Lancashire Mind is committed to continuing to raise awareness, reduce stigma, encourage meaningful conversations and challenge misconceptions surrounding suicide.
This year’s World Suicide Prevention Day theme is 'Working Together to Prevent Suicide'. We will be sharing a range of information across our social media this week to help support and educate. We will be sharing resources, guides and statistics from Mind, Time to Change, IASP and Healthier Lancashire and South Cumbria
We will also be joining a 40 second silence to be held at 11.40am on Thursday 10th September to remember those we have lost. Every 40 seconds someone in the world dies by suicide. Together we can prevent these deaths.
Our Community Development Coordinator Paula has also shared her personal experience of suicide and why she believes it is so important to talk about our mental health. One of our supporters Lisa has also shared a blog about what it is like to lose someone close to you to suicide. Read the blogs here
At Lancashire Mind we want to empower more people across Lancashire to feel able to have meaningful conversations surrounding suicide. For over a year Lancashire Mind has been delivering Suicide Prevention training across Lancashire and South Cumbria. Our Suicide First Aid Lite – Virtual courses are listed below.
