Napthens’ Story
Prevention in practice: How Napthens solicitors prioritise mental health in their workplace
Lancashire-based law firm Napthens, has been championing mental health in the workplace for over two decades and offering free support to their staff since 2000. In partnership with Lancashire Mind for the past five years, they’ve embedded bi-monthly drop-in Wellbeing Coaching sessions into their routine – helping employees access timely support, stay well at work and reduce absence.
HR Business Partner, Leah Simpkin, shares how this proactive approach is creating a healthier, more resilient workforce and why prevention remains central to their wellbeing strategy.
Prevention is key for Lancashire based legal experts, Napthens – a business that has been offering free mental health support for their people since 2000. The solicitors firm has worked with Lancashire Mind for five years ensuring their people can access drop-in Wellbeing Coaching when they need it.
HR Business Partner, Leah Simpkin, said:
“Having Lancashire Mind on hand when our people need them is a wonderful tool to have. Many services have long wait lists and we want our people to know that there is a regular service there when they need it. It’s important to us that we are able to offer support to our colleagues in a time of need. For us this service is so important and forms a key part of our commitment to our people to support better mental health and wellbeing. Wellbeing Coaching has helped our people through assisting them in their return to work or supporting them to stay in work. Staff wellbeing is our priority but in addition to that the service has helped reduce levels of staff absence, which has been invaluable to the business.
Looking after our mental health is so important and we have introduced bi-monthly drop-in sessions so that we can hopefully prevent people from getting to a place where they are dealing with poor mental health. Prevention is important for everyone and at Napthens we guide people on this journey where we can.
We want to promote healthy wellbeing and positive mental health, as it is an important feature of everyday life for all of our people. We’ve seen incredibly positive outcomes from those who have accessed workplace wellbeing coaching with our people sharing how great the drop-in support is and what a difference having that benefit there has made to them.”
If you’re a business or organisation looking to support your staff’s mental health and create a more resilient, engaged workforce, our Workplace Wellbeing Coaching could make a real difference.
At Lancashire Mind, we work with organisations of all sizes to provide flexible, confidential coaching sessions that empower employees to stay well and thrive at work.
