Fleetwood Wellbeing Way

Sunset strolls and simple steps to boost your wellbeing.

“If you’re walking the trail, you’re being active,” explains Victoria Mitchell (a founding member of the project). “But you’re also picking up small tips to help improve your mental and physical health too.”

The Fleetwood Wellbeing Way is more than just a scenic route, it’s a 2km accessible wellbeing trail. Designed to boost both physical and mental health using the Five Ways to Wellbeing.

Developed as part of a Lancashire community project, the trail winds along a wide accessible path in Fleetwood. Monthly changing posters along the route offer wellbeing tips, activities and simple challenges – all based on the Five Ways to Wellbeing: Connect, Be Active, Take Notice, Keep Learning and Give.

Now in its fifth year, the trail has become a vital part of the community – with individuals, families, friends and even local organisations using it to support their wellbeing.

Whether it’s a solo stroll to clear your mind, a catch-up walk with a friend, or a mindful moment to watch the sun set over the sea – the Fleetwood Wellbeing Way invites everyone to take small and meaningful steps towards better mental health.

“Research shows that if you incorporate the Five Ways to Wellbeing into your daily life, it helps build resilience and boost wellbeing,” says Victoria. “That’s what the trail is all about. Making it easy, accessible and part of everyday life.”
