mental elf 5k fun run

Lancashire Mind Annual Fundraiser

Mental Elf is our annual 5k Fun Run with the emphasis on fun! It doesn’t matter if you’re a seasoned runner or prefer a stroll in the park, the event is for everyone. Whether you want to run, skip, hop or jog your way across the finish line we really appreciate your help in raising vital funds that allow us to continue doing what we do.

Lancashire Mind’s vision is mental wellbeing for all; we want everyone in Lancashire to be aware of and know how to improve their wellbeing. Regular physical activity is associated with lower rates of depression and anxiety. An active lifestyle not only keeps our bodies healthy, but makes us feel good too! By taking part in Mental Elf, people boost their own wellbeing as well as helping other people across Lancashire.

Important Information for all running Elves!

The registration desk opens at 10.30am. Elves will be asked to fill in their personal details on the back of their running number for health and safety purposes.

The pre run warm up commences at 11.30am on the outdoor running track and the run starts promptly at 12 noon.

All runners will get a goodie bag at the finish line containing bottle of water and other treats! Medals will be given to all Elves who registered on line prior to the event. Mince pies, butterscotch biscuits and hot drinks are available inside for purchase.

All runners are entitled to a free sports massage from the lovely staff from Logic Sports Injury clinic following the race- who can be found inside our festive market.

Please be aware we will be filming and snapping photos and taking lots of ‘Elfies’ throughout the day. If you are not happy for any pictures you are featured in to be used on social media, in press releases or further publications please see the staff at the registration desk to withdraw your photo consent.

On the day registration is available however please note all runners who register on the day will not receive a medal at the finish line but will be asked to provide a postal address so we can send it in the post.

This Elf Can!

We were thrilled that Mental Elf 2016, which took place on 4th December, raised over £8,000! This is an amazing amount but this year we want to aim even higher and raise at least £10,000 to help us continue to support those across Lancashire living with a mental health condition and towards achieving mental wellbeing for all.

We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who got involved, donated to and supported the 2016 event; proving that #thiselfcan! We hope to see you again at Mental Elf 2017 on Sunday 3rd December.

If you’ve not participated in Mental Elf before, here are a few of the photos from Mental Elf 2016 to give you a flavour of the fun and friendly event. If you want to know more before signing up, read our Frequently Asked Questions.

Mental Elf 2017 Hoodies are now on sale.

You can pre-order them here for £20 and collect them on the day. Otherwise there will be a limited number available to purchase on the day for £25. Pre-order to avoid disappointment.

Mental Elf Marketplace

At Mental Elf 2016, we introduced a festive market place; an opportunity for participants, their family and friends to get a warm drink, a festive snack and browse some wonderful stalls selling local products. The market is open before, during and after the run so there is plenty of time for everyone to have a look around.

Open 10.30am-3pm

This year we are excited to offer a range of Christmas gifts, Candles, Beauty Products, food, Hot drinks, Mulled Wine and so much more. We also have face painting, games and children’s craft. Entry into the market is absolutely free so bring down the whole family.
