Zara's story: Finding space to grieve
Zara’s Story
Zara’s journey through loss, healing and compassionate support she received with Lancashire Mind.
Zara had experienced a still birth in the final weeks of her pregnancy, which was compounded by the separation from her husband and the abusive treatment received from him and his family.
Topics covered included: Baby loss and grief

Zara accessed Lancashire Mind’s Together After Loss service, meeting with one of our therapists – Jayne. Zara was given space within the session to talk about her baby, in terms of how they would talk about and remember their baby.
The layers and complexity of multiple losses was given room and communicated. Zara was able to embed some self-care into their routine and prioritised connection with others and exercise. She started to build her self-esteem and value, by validating her feelings and experiences and putting some boundaries that were seen as being healthy in place.
If you have been affected by baby loss or miscarriage and would like support, please know that you are not alone. Whether you’re looking for someone to talk with, a space to share your story or simply to feel understood, Together After Loss can help.
