Spreading the Community Wellbeing Challenge glow across Lancashire!

Lancashire Mind are delighted that a initiative we developed to enable people to get together to improve wellbeing in their area is spreading across Lancashire. 

**The next Community Wellbeing Challenge starts in Nelson on the 10th February 2022 - get in touch (as below) to sign up!**

The Community Wellbeing Challenge (CWC) aims to support local people to develop and launch a local asset that will benefit their entire community over the course of 12-weeks.

Challengers might create anything, from Wellbeing Walks or a Facebook Wellbeing Group to Mindfulness Sessions or Coffee Mornings. Each group of local people decides! Along the way, you will: 

• Learn about looking after their own wellbeing; 
• Meet like-minded people from their community;
• Learn to recognise their personal strengths, develop new skills AND boost their confidence; and
• Even get a certificate at the end of the project!

You don’t need any specific experience, knowledge or skills to join in a challenge; just an interest in getting involved in your local community. 

We have secured funding from Bupa to run CWC anywhere in Lancashire and from the Co-op to deliver the project in specific areas including Burnley, Brierfield, Accrington, Esprick, Out Rawcliffe, Myerscough and Peel Hill.

The Community Wellbeing Challenge (CWC), originally introduced in secondary schools, has since been developed for delivery in the community. So far, the Challenge has been been introduced in Blackburn, Fleetwood, Morecambe, Oswaldtwistle and Blackpool, amongst other areas.
