Northern food and drink retailer Booths has raised £30,000 for Lancashire Mind with the help of cricketing Lord Botham. Booths held the annual Charity Golf Day at Fairhaven Golf Club in Lytham St Annes. The day featured teams of the Booths team, their suppliers and a dinner with matched wines from Lord Botham’s range, blended to his own specific tastes, which is sold at Booths.

Ross Faith, Finance Director at Booths said, “I’m delighted that Booths has doubled the amount raised for Lancashire Mind at this year’s golf day. Charities have really found it hard to fundraise during the pandemic and it was enormous fun to be able to gather safely together again and enjoy a great round of golf.”

“We were grateful for the support and generosity of Lord Botham, he was a gent on the course and certainly helped our fundraising efforts.”

Tommy McIlravey CEO of Lancashire Mind said, “Lancashire Mind, whilst having some affiliation with the national charity Mind, is a separate and independent local charity and we must raise our own funding to ensure we can deliver our services to the people of Lancashire.

“Every penny counts, and that’s why donations like this from Booths are vital to us and we’d like to thank them for this donation and the ongoing support they have shown Lancashire Mind.”

“All the money we receive from donations and our own fundraising efforts is spent on and for the benefit of the people of Lancashire. We know their needs and are best placed to deliver what they require, from school and workplace training to one-to-one wellbeing coaching, but we rely on the generous help of others to enable us to do this.”
