The number of children and young people who are experiencing a mental health condition has recently increased from 1 in 10, to 1 in 8. If we can work with children at an early enough age, we can reduce this number.

50% of mental health conditions develop before the age of 14 so it is important that children are aware of and can understand their mental health, as well as being able to access the right support, at the right time if they are experiencing poor mental health.

Our children and young people services are delivered in partnership with schools because we believe it is important to have a universal approach that includes all children and because schools are best placed to spot signs that a young person might be experiencing poor mental health.
